The Sun Valley Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. was established when the Phoenix Chapter could no longer meet the needs of mothers across the Phoenix Valley. Under the leadership of Organizer Chilesa J. Ready, the group collected information from 29 mothers within a week and filed a request for provisional status. With the support of the Phoenix Chapter and Far West Regional leadership, the National Executive Board granted provisional status on October 2, 2019.

The group quickly began organizing, selecting leaders, and developing children's programming. The first officers were Chilesa J. Ready (President), Tina Swanson (Vice President), and others, who worked together to establish a strong foundation. They participated in training sessions led by national leaders and regional events like the Regional Tea/Meet & Greet hosted by Regional Director Diane Little. Despite challenges, the mothers, with support from the Phoenix Chapter, forged ahead, engaging in community service like MLK marches, senior center visits, and STEM activities.

On August 23, 2020, during the 44th National Convention, the provisional group officially became the Sun Valley Provisional Chapter, and they celebrated with a virtual retreat. The following month, on October 23, 2020, the Sun Valley Chapter was chartered by 20 dedicated mothers. In the years that followed, the chapter continued to thrive with a focus on community service and enriching programs. In 2021, the Teen Group won 2nd place for Small Chapter Foundation giving, and the chapter celebrated its first senior, Eric Smith, who was accepted to Howard University. The chapter also reached membership goals and participated in national events, including the National Children’s trip to Tulsa and the National Convention in Orlando.

The 2023-2024 program year saw continued success, with Mother Tamika Sanders elected to the Far West Regional Nominating Committee, and Vice President Tanya Smith playing a key role in a Mediterranean cultural cruise. The chapter welcomed new members and hosted various events, including a holiday brunch, a teen pageant in Sacramento, and a Black Family Day roller skating event. The year culminated with new officer installations and the election of Taylor Towns as Regional Teen President and Nicole Collins as Far West Regional Chair.

Throughout its history, the Sun Valley Chapter has grown in unity, leadership, and community impact, continuing its mission of service and empowerment.
